This site represents the first freely-available online
resource to support the sensor-selection process in human-computer
interaction design. It was developed under EPSRC Project
(GR/R45253) Developing Support for Sensor-based Human-Machine
Interaction.
The site contains two main resources for interaction designers:
+ A database of sensors.
+ A tool for protyping sensor-based interactive systems.
The database can be searched in one of three ways; by
sensor type, by sensor property (or phenomena) or by application
domain. In addition a glossary of terminology is included
along with a list of other, sensor-related resources.
Prototyping support takes the form of an extensible universal
sensor interface (USI), called Liquid.
